Because those god-awful picks set your franchise back.
The Grizz certainly fell into some luck, but what if they kept Love and paired him with Marc Gasol instead of trading him for Mayo? They'd have the best front court in the league.
What if your Wolves took Curry and Derozan instead of Rubio and Flynn? Those are just bad decisions and they'll haunt the franchise for years.
There's a reason why other than MAYBE Paul George I don't lament who we didn't draft. Why? They would have all failed here too, no doubt in my mind.
They'd suck and we'd still suck. Why? It's beyond management. Can't blame 10 years on bad management anymore. That's trying to escape from the real problem and that's ownership. Some owners want it more than others. Some owners wanna change things when they lose money or fans or games. Then you have others that own a sports team but roll with a logic equivalent to "winning isn't everything."
Some teams need a new player. Some teams need a new coach. Some need new GM's. What do you do to the teams that tried all that and still suck? Someone's hiring those guys.
If anything, some of these teams also got a new lease on life due to ownership changes, Golden State being a major example of this
