I've been trying to play manual since '13 and I had to downgrade from Legend to Pro in order to win (some) matches. shyt was already difficult for my ego but with the '14 demo it was surprisingly easier for Manual so I had faith in it. But with the final version it got more difficult so I switched back to a mix between auto (passes), semi (shots) and manual (crosses). I always had a game based on passes but even if I know it takes some time, it's frustrating as hell not to be able to do it anymore and above all not being able to improve. Maybe it's my controller though.
So what do you recommend to practice (I did all the mini-games but that doesn't help in matches) ? Above all for the shots because what I hate about manual shots is that they either end on the keeper or 5m from the post
It's easier to shoot on Manual in 14. Just make sure you don't hold the button for long. Practice your shots in the arena from different angles. Practice shots when you're running fast and parallel to the box. Use your left stick to give direction to the ball. Don't practice with the best players in the game. Practice with a mid level score (scoring rating 50-70), then it gets much easier when you have to score with the better players. Slightly move the left stick to the corner you want the ball to go to. Passes are the same way. Use the left stick to pass to the desired player. Check my goals, they are all scored on Manual settings

So you mean to tell that I don't have to hold the stick ? Just a quick flick and that's all ? Same with passes ?
I may have had a bad habit by holding the stick to ensure the ball properly goes where I want. Will try that and I'll get back at you. By the way, I play in career mode with the shyttiest Ligue 2 team, CA Bastia, in order to win the CL in a 5 years span with no recruitment but only youth development

Its unplayable. Because player collision gives all the advantage to the defender, game play is too uneven.
I'm in division 2 of ultimate team, and everyone plays "keep away" with the ball until they reach the front of your goal. Every time you reach the player he passes it to another player, so most people figured out it doesn't pay to build up any type of attack because the player collision system is atrocious. Any little contact slows your player down, then he gets swarmed.
I'll try next gen, if its horrible, I'm returning the Xbox One back to the store and get a refund.
