how hard is it to install genesis etc with kodi on a fire tv? Is it worth it to do on my own or should i pay someone to do it?

Also, is there anything else i should look for/look to purchase.

I figured a lightning to hdmi adapter plus the fire tv i'd be set.

That shyt must be easy because my brother who isn't even 10% as computer savvy as I am has been hooking up Firestick TV's with something called The Beast for months now.

Install FireStarter and Kodi (only FireTV needed) · sphinx02/FireStarter Wiki · GitHub

This will install firestarter and kodi. You use firestarter to auto start kodi on boot, or make it easier to launch it because it's a pain to launch side loaded apps on fire os.

It won't install repos or add-ons like Genesis, just pure vanilla kodi. You can then install just the add-ons you want.

This will show you how to install ChrisB's kodi build called the beast, which has a lot of add-ons already installed. Use beast 1.5 for firesticks.

If you have the new 4k fire tv you can go to apps from the homescreen and launch kodi from there once installed. They allow you to launch side loaded apps now.
checkout spartanpixel.net/repo to install the beast, if your going that route install the 1.5 version. My recommendation would be install the royalist light smooth build with everything you need. Iptv you have to pay for and is not needed, that's up to you.

No, just a tv with a USB Port.

My only warning for those downloading the beast is that build contains a ton of addons that you won't even need/use and the default skin is a bit cluttered and confusing to navigate if you're new to kodi. The only real upside is the beast has a version of iptvstalker that works with the tv guide, otherwise you'd probably be better off installing about 7-8 key addons and prospering

Fire tv can be hooked up to your router which has better wifi now with ac support, 2gb memory, dual core processor vs the stick with 1gb memory and a quad core processor. Fire tv can run hd content on kodi smoothly. Firestick runs great with kodi, but struggles with hd content. Unless you stick to Hq or Mq streams. Plus it needs regular maintenance for best results. As i mentioned best build would be the beast 1.5 or the royalist which i prefer, can't go wrong with either
