Welllllll Salazar Slytherin the person the House was named after had some issues with the other founders of Hogwarts. I haven't done a reread of series in awhile to remember the particulars.

He only respected pure-blooded wizards and witches at Hogwarts, which of course, didn't really vibe well with the others. The founder of Gryffindor especially didn't rock with that idea.

So you could be a good person in Slytherin, but they do have a certain reputation for a reason. Being cunning and ambitious isn't bad at all, it just so happens that in Harry's story, pretty much all of them were a$$holes.

Yea so he really was on some Wizard MAGA shyt. Rowling never really redeemed the Slytherin House in the series at all outside of Snape kind of(even though he really was abusive to children).
