...And they looked just like us but had powers regular humans don't. Like Superman.
Thats what got me thinking about this because where he was from he wasn't anything special, just a regular kid whose parents told him to jet when things fell apart so he ended up on this planet (and became the greatest simp who ever lived in the process). Now imagine a huge ship full of them instead of just one dude, fleeing from something and seeking a place to go local and blend with the yokels who were identical in form but not function. To Earth, they came.
Lets take away the Hollywood special effects so no laser beams shooting out of eyes and flight but lets give them telepathy instead. All of them can communicate among themselves, like their own always on internet. What kind of world would they create? Just with that one skill on deck resistance would literally be futile because these new jacks would always be plugged in and the natives won't have a clue what hit em because they're the same yet different but obviously more advanced if they could travel through space in the first place and communicate via thought inside each others heads.
Superman is a pretty wild film if you watch it again with reel eyez as the whole white savior thing is in full effect as well as a lot of subtle details designed to fly overhead and thats what made me flip the script. Can you imagine that movie?
A bunch of telepathic folk from a dying planet jump on a ship and land on Earth where they blend in with the basic natives. Would they use their powers for good? Conquest? Integration or segregation? How do you see it playing out. What kind of world would they build? How would the true sons of the Earth feel about being displaced from their own space by those who seem but aren't the same. How would those from another planet fare in a place so primitive and with no tech beyond what they bought with them?
