I swear to God some days I just thank Jesus for having good oral genes 
Growing up as a kid I noticed a lot of other people had weird chainsaw teeth, crazy over/under bites, chipped teeth, or jigsaw teeth, naturally yellow teeth, or gums that were susceptible to gum disease (like that woman in the video) .
So while they were going to the orthodontist and the periodontist for weird oral fckery , i was chillin. No braces, no orthodontics, no prosthetics, no retainers, no scalings, etc.

I don't think that would have worked in her situation. you can see at the 10sec mark that its too late. Long teeth like that is indicative of late stage gum disease. At that point the gums are so far gone and so far back that those long exposed teeth are too brittle and weak Because there's nothing supporting them.
Oftentimes that signifies that the rot has actually gone into the gums, past the gumline, and inside the teeth. There was no version of the events where she got to keep them.
In a case like hers, If she had gone to the dentist about half a decade earlier, the periodontist could have done some scaling and deep cleaning. And only after that could they go to the orthodontist for braces and a retainer.
