1996/1997 raw was pretty damn close to any great drama

shyt was epic

the way they slowly built the mr. mcmahon character, a year long build of kane's arrival

developing all 3 faces of foley

the hart foundations rise and fall and dx's rise

now u get a year build to a big match via satellite if ur lucky :shaq2:

Del Rio smuggling work through his connect that turns out to be D Bry through his beard without Kane's knowledge and it turns out Ryback was the top customer which then incites a turf war between American wrestlers vs. non American wrestlers which leads to Cena/Punk/Bryan/Kane/Swagger vs, ADR/Sheams/Ceserio/Barrett/Kofi while Orton lingers over all to snatch that good product from the co-op

...kanes a spaniard, he was born in spain.

When people say this, they dont understand the difference. Writers for tv shows write one hour episodes at 22 a season. Since seasons overlap in a year, they're roughly responsible for a lil over 30 hours of scripts for a calendar year, and they get mad long breaks to recharge their creative energy between seasons.

WWE writers are responsible for 3 hours of LIVE television each week, per show, pretty much every week out of the year with no breaks. Thats well over 150 hours of television for EACH show (SD is a lil lighter since its 2hrs). Thats an inhuman workload compared to other scripted shows. Plus there are mad variables to deal with --- live nature of broadcasts, veto power from wrestlers, having to change storylines on a dime due to injuries, etc, etc. WWE writers dont receive anywhere near the credit they deserve.

...so theyre like internet reviewers.

You need to see The Wire breh. One of the best shows ever made.

I've seen the wire and obviously you dont realize that this quote does not translate AT ALL to pro wrestling... its corny and literally comical...

if anything this reinforces the fact that writers should not write promos for wrestlers, they should cut them themselves.
