What a dramatic shift that would bring to pretty much every single thing involving everyone, in an instant.

You've got to wonder why desalination isn't more common or things of that nature because its all more than feasible, even on an individual level (according to youtube, at a quick glance). There was an interesting invention mentioned in a thread on here about a condenser that pulled water out of the air and made it fresh to serve.

Things like that may soon be the wave because its obvious the Game is changing its stage and picking up the pace... That said if the way people acted with toilet paper (like they never heard of three seashells, pfft!) was an indication of the state of play then its a wrap before it even begins because it won't just be a double burger with cheese and your Daytons but what you sip as well from what you collected....

Energy is the problem with that machine, you need quite a bit of power to pull moisture from air. A solar/water desalinator is the combo but can it scale economically?

Imagine? They say that may be reality soon

I don't watch the news and stay away from fear mongering so don't know about that. Just going off what I see around me as its been obvious for a while the seasons have shifted and this got me thinking about how we can be proactive and build solutions before problems swing through and crush the buildings.

Do you have a link to that thread please? It was posted a while back, sure the inventor was African.

Energy. It costs a lot of energy to run. And that's not economical considering how cheap water is.

Once water becomes rare enough that people will pay out their noses for it, desalination will become more common because it will be cost-effective. But that will just lead to more fuel shortages and higher energy costs.

The solution, as always, is reducing consumption. But idiots don't want to be told not to water their lawns or not to put golf courses in the desert or not to grow water-intensive crops in places where it never rains.
