part of me wants to look at 2016 like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow or the start of a really new era but realistically, i think that there's still going to be some kind of war going on. as far as the day to day, i think that things are getting better all the time, despite the racial spin on many media stories.

I get mildly annoyed sometimes when liberals hate on Obama as much as they do. I know that he's done some fukked up stuff, particularly about the drone strikes (arguably his biggest blemish on his record), but I don't think that many realize how bad it would have been on so many different fronts without him. I'm all about holding the man's feet to the fire and keeping him responsible considering that he's our President, but I don't feel like enough credit is given.

Anyone who doesnt think that the first black president wasnt a ruse is missing the point of what had to be done. Bush was bad, but at the time, most americans didn't fully understand how much he fukked up the economy... republicans really had a chance for the 3peat baring they didnt do anything stupid... which they ended up doing with sarah palin.

Hilary shoudlve got the nomination IMO... but the democrats needed to put someone on the ticket that would get the minority votes, thus obama. Either way it goes, the 2008 election was a toss up to get the nicest face in the door to do the dirtiest work (raise taxes, cut government spending, end war on terror).

Black people didn't get played because Obama didn't run on civil right issues, and still doesn't mention them outside of equality for homosexuals. The only people who should feel played is blacks that voted off of his race, which was prolly the great majority.
