both these nikkas have a shyt load of producers in the studio with them and while it shows up in the credits sometimes, it still stands that they have a shyt load of nikkas helpin' them produce:francis:

so are these nikkas as great as we perceive them to be? i mean, if a producer got all the help in the world helpin' him or MAYBE even sometimes doin' the majority of the work fo him, how great is that producer? :jbhmm:

and again, i ask this question as a fan. i've been a fan of the both of these nikkas music but it do make me wonder just how "great" of producers they are when after their initial rise to fame, they had a shyt load of producers workin' with or fo them :francis:

they both greats in the producer sense. Its just alot of casual fans dont understand the difference between a beatmaker and a producer

Kanye is a top 10 producer, but probably not even a top 40 beatmaker

Kanye was actually ghost producing for D Dot early in his career. Early Kanye was that nikka, and he definitely was making his own shyt. The nikka soul sample flip game is immaculate. And although he didn't invent the shyt, he did it the best. I don't know what Kanye is doing now with the beats. He probably is just arranging cause he on some Quincy Jones shyt now. I been stopped fukking with Ye. But early Ye, was one of the best to ever to this beat making shyt.

I can't speak on Dre like that. I don't know what the fukk he was doing befre NWA, but apparently he was that nikka on the producing tip. I read a lot of shyt about Dre not really making a lot of beats, and we all know he has had ghost producers/understudy's or whatever the fukk you want to call it. But Dre's peers in the game show him the upmost respect. I thinks Dre's best talent is actually his mixing skills. All his shyt is very pristine and has a distinctive clarity. He's a genius with that shyt

Kanye fell off because he switched his sound

Think about it Soul samples to 808s and eggy

yeah but you know what MOST people would say? if he wouldn't have switched up, then he would've been regarded as a relic and a has been
ye made the right move to reach out and get other producers in his camp and fold if you lookin' at it from a business standpoint
but fo as great as he's promoted himself and by many of his fans, how great he is when since like 05' most of his shyt has come from other producers and not mainly him
