You mean Keef & the drill movement. 50 taking the L to Kanye pretty much killed gangsta rap, everyone was complaining in the late 2000's/early 2010's over the nerds and 'backpackers' taking over. Then boom...couple years later all that poppy shyt is dead and even the main pioneer of 'relateable' rap is talking about free smoke and being up on the other side.
