In 2023 what age is considered old?

My aunt passed away a few days ago.

I ask my mom how old she was:


Mom: she was 70

Me: she lived her life

Mom: 70 is young

Me:


For reference my mom is 60. I remember when I was in grade 5 and when we found out that our teacher was 25, it was like that nicca fina die soon.

But the older you get you realize its not so bad but come man is there a point in life where 70 would be considered not that old ?

I’m not 40 yet but to me that’s where you’re an old nicca…of course I was saying the same thing about being 30 when I was in my early 20s

age is relative. Old is subjective. Old to me is not being able to function reasonably anymore.


Do you have a little snap in your step, stable on a slipery surface, or are you barley able to walk around without looking "weak".

Are you able to speak clearly and project your voice, or are you barely able to raise your voice and when you speak its not clear and incoherent.

Are you able to take out the trash, wash the dishes and bend down.

and the biggest one, are you jaded, bitter and feel like your ready to die.



But i would say 80 is "old". Compared to maybe 40 years ago when 60 was considered "old". Most 60 year olds who take care of themselves still have half their life in the tank.

It's all relative. For someone to be dead 70 is young especially for a woman.

My grandfather still drives and he spent his 85th birthday at the casino gambling and drinking so I don’t really know these days I’ll say 75 plus.
