In Asian Culture is it polite to slurp/smack when eating?

I'm watching these Korean Dramas now and that slurping shyt is disgusting..

Have a whole bowl of noodles and i just know that slurping sound is coming

Even the women do it.

Learned something new though.

For noodles yeah. You bring air in to cool the noodles off and enjoy the taste more. Like the coffee testers that slurp.
