Depends on how good Trae is and how good the team they put around him is.

Trae can only play one side of the ball no matter how good he may become. On a team that's not having a winning record. So he isn't affecting winning.
While doncic is doncic. Safe to say Atlanta lost that trade. I know all atl brehs would never do that trade again if they knew what we know now.

This thread is dumb, both teams won, Trae Young is prolly Hawks best draft pick since Dominique and they got Cam Reddish out of the trade too.

I wouldn't really say Hawks lost the trade cuz we still don't know how good they'd be if they gave Trae a good supporting cast that compliments his game like the Mavs did Luka

The Cam Reddish pick will be the downfall of the trade. If that pick would have resulted in an all-star caliber player, it wouldn't be looked at as a loss from ATL's end

The light was starting to come on offensively for Reddish before Covid ended the season and he’s already there defensively
Hawkset has been telling me for a year now that Trigga Trae fits the city better than Tyreke Doncic. So idk what this thread is talking about.

Luka is not that great defensively and the Mavs outscore their opponents by the same amount with Luka in the game or on the bench. The Mavs were just smarter with surrounding Luka with a lot of veteran players while pretty much all of the Hawks best players are 24 and under. I'd clearly take Luka over Trae but their team success right now is more a function of Mavs doing a better job of surrounding Luka with the proper talent.
