It was a huge disappointment when it first came out...well to me anyways because of how much classic material that ended up leaking. Those Carter III sessions had some of the best songs of his career. By the time Carter III finally came out, he had already shown signs of falling off and he did.
It still was a ok listenable album and was the last decent one he released.

exactly. Anyone who had been listening to hip hop for some time before Carter 3 knew it was trash on arrival. I always find it funny when Weezy stans force it as some sorta classic. It's cool. Time reveals all.
