Grandma can give a house to whoever she wants, but if she gives something to someone that belongs to me (my child), than her gift to them is up to me to decide whether or not i approve of them having it. This seems like a complicated issue when the gift is something good like a house.. But if somebody wanted to give your child something bad like drugs or something there would be very little argument over whether or not a parent has a right to deny that gift to her child.
