We all were fascinated by pimping after those HBO documentaries came out. It was like watching a wizard work his magic. Wow, a woman going out to have sex for money and bringing it all back to her pimp? But but how?
I know so many young men who became obsessed with that idea. Dudes really tried to get their pimp on During the Craigslist era. Some of them are serving football numbers for bringing women across state lines.
Looking back, that lifestyle was poison. Hip hop was a heavy promoter of it as well. It taught men to disrespect their own women and practice predatory behavior. Now years later the women have no respect for their own men. We sit around and wonder why.
Some men think pimps have a magical “mouthpiece” but it’s far from the truth. Most of these women are runaways, victims of child sexual abuse, mentally ill, drug addicts or worse, they’re underage. I’ve sat in rehab and listened to the stories.
It’s infuriating seeing grown men idolize blood sucking leeches who used and abuse women. A man wearing a clown suit, French tips, and a perm was actually seen as a masculine figure. Crazy.
