edit: if u really want to stick with gief u gonna have to man up then and realize this is what everyones gonna do. No one gets close to gief, u literally only have to do 3 moves to kill anyone. Everyone in SF is gonna keep away from gief and poke him or keep him back with fireballs and stuff.

Vanilla SF4 Gief vs. Sagat was horrible

But it balanced out his other matchups. Gief was such a monster vs. majority of the cast.

I don't know how shyt is now in AE.

Tips
Geifs crouching mid punch is his most reliable anti air more.
You can use his firepalm move to move closer before doing piledriver.
Firepalm has to miss for this to work tho.
*example* blankaball block >> firepalm~SPD
Sometimes Gief can grab nikkas out of combos.
*example* ryu does his clk,clp,hadoken combo. If you spam SPD and there is ANY space during that combo gief gets a grab.
Gief has the most kara grab range in the fukkin world.
With his kara you can punish people from like halfscreen away.
His kara is HK~SPD
