You will hear a difference when you got the sound gear to hear it. I say just start at lossless and reencode from there if you need it in another format
Yeah, i prefer the vbr 320 mp3 file to be ripped directly from the CD itself. Lossless ain't everything in this world when lot of players don't support it. Seriously, how many people you know rock this stereo deck?

Most people I know play stuff off their phones (which can do lossless) and even if they have a dedicated audio player chances are it does lossless

And if you start out ripping all your shyt lossless you can always just reencode at 320cbr or v0 in lame to meet your audio players needs. Then in the future when your audio gear gets upgraded you can just go back to your lossless and not have to rerip anything

I never thought about that. I just feel like mp3 is more compatible and can be high quality when ripped properly. I already have a huge music collection but all of them are mp3 320/vbr. I am not going to start over with .flac. too much time has been spent already. I see your point though. It all comes down to audio gear.

If you already have it at 320 or a high quality vbr then yeah no need imo. Especially since most hiphop music isn't mastered well enough to make a big difference.

This is why you can't hear the difference. It's impossible to tell the difference on headphones like these....stick with the 320 vbr joints, you will save space instead of going with flac that you won't hear properly...

Trust me. I can hear the difference between 128, 192, and 320 with these head phones.

yea...because those arent lossless audio files....it's why I suggested sticking with 320 instead of going all the way to flac where you won't be able to tell the difference and would just be wasting space with the larger file sizes...

You should definitely try and upgrade your audio equipment a lil bit. U can get something that sounds a lot better for not tooooo much dough

It's one of those things where u just don't know what ur missing until u try it

True but when you have a 3 digit worth of GB in your collection, you don't want to start all over.
