No need to explain, I was just fukking around. I'm an NBA head, but would probably be considered a casual NFL fan.
To answer your question, I'm not sure what has changed in the NBA recently that would make a 6 seed more valuable than a 4 or 5. Have they been more successful in the playoffs in recent years? That's the only way I could see this being a debate or anything. Like if the numbers have shown that 6 seeds win more playoff series than 4/5 seeds over the last so many years. Even if that was the case, I would just chalk it up to a trend.
You always want the lowest seed possi...
It just hit me. You're asking this because the NBA doesn't reseed after each round. I still will say that the 4/5 seed is more valuable. There are too many factors involved to say that you are better as the 6 than the 4/5. If you are trying to avoid the number 1 see until the conference championship, well, the number one seed is not always the best/ most feared team in the conference. Then you have the match up variable. Some teams match up better against others, regardless of seeding. 4/5 has higher chance of home court advantage if there were to be upsets in other series.
