Im getting my ducks in a row to start investing this year and want the brehs take on index funds vs etfs.

From my research so far im leaning towards index funds because they seem like less day to day work, but i know they can have higher costs up front.

Appreciate any and all input

Just open a Betterment account and setup the auto deduct from your bank account, set your risk and let then do the rest, I believe there is no minimum and their fees are low. With Vanguard you are looking at needing 3k for most of the funds (a couple allow 1k).

I fukk with Fidelity. There are offices here in Austin TX I can stop by to ask any noob question if I'm in the neighborhood. I'm in it for the long haul, so I'm investing in their index funds till mid 60s or so. Don't believe the lie about needing $2500 to start with if you want in with their Investor class funds. There's a workaround that they deliberately don't advertise. If you can, stop by an office, and tell them you want to setup automatic monthly payments into whatever Investor fund of interest so that you can get around this $2500 "requirement". I was able to start as low as $200 a month in automatic payments. Bumped it up to $500.

This is what I have. I like better ment, pretty easy to use and the fees are low if you set it up to automatically deposit.
