There's a LOT of shyt like this going on in India right now. Biased laws, discriminatory application of the law, use of police for intimidation and violence, harassment of minority populations, etc. I could make 10-12 wild threads just off of stuff I've heard about in the last month or two. They're slipping straight into fascism.

Yeah, he was careful to install them in international companies etc linked to China..but the news got out and was snuffed out fast. They were in the Panama papers I think.
The documentary they banned, India: The Modi Question, is about the deaths of 2000 Muslims in Gujarat at the hands of Hindu mobs. The current prime minister, Modi, was in charge of Gujarat when it happened and numerous higher-level members of his party directly participated with help from the police. His own home minister Haren Pandya testified that Modi told the police heads to let the Muslims be killed in an official meeting. That home minister was later assassinated. A police office confirmed Modi's report, that officer was sentenced to life in prison for an unrelated 30-year-old custodial death case (police officers are virtually NEVER convicted for killing convicts in India). After the riots, Modi failed to go after the party members who were clearly implicated in the violence and in many cases later elevated them to even higher offices. And like @RadaMillz said, there were a group of Hindu men in prison for gangraping, torturing, and killing an entire family of 14 Muslims, and the Gujarat government just released them early after they had only served 10 years behind bars.
Meanwhile, a Bollywood director recently made a fictional movie about the deaths of 79 Hindus in Kashmir at the hands of terrorists. The deaths did happen but the way it's portrayed in the movie is super heavy into propaganda and inciting the masses. Modi's government is HEAVILY promoting the film, making it tax-free in states they control, entering it into international competitions, etc.
The hypocrisy is obvious, and you see it spread though numerous other actions across the country right now. If thousands of Muslims die, they do everything possible to sweep it under the rug. But if a few dozen Hindus die, they do everything possible to blow it out of proportion in order to drive hatred against Muslims.
No one will be surprised if there's either a mass killing or mass exodus of Muslims and Christians in India in the near future. And everyone will know exactly who is responsible. And even if there's not a full-on genocide, there's going to be constant and increasing restriction of rights, economic harassment, police harassment, etc.
But will anyone else do anything about it, or will they keep kissing the ass of fascists in the name of economic cooperation?

There could be, but helping a fascist cover up his involvement in thousands of deaths in order to get back at a TV station is next-level disgusting behavior.
And in case anyone thinks I'm exaggerating about their fascism....I could give a hundred practical examples, but a simpler direction is just to point out that these people LOVE Hitler and want to emuate him. Mein Kampf is an actual best-seller in India and has been for decades.
