For me its Tupac Shakur & Malcolm X

Tupac was truly a one of a kind human being. Rappers have tried to mimic him but no one will ever be able to capture his overall energy and passion. I was never the biggest fan of his music growing up, but recently ive found myself listening to his music more and more. This song is EXTREMELY relevant right now:

Dude was going to go on and do great things for the black community as he matured and grew wiser.

I wish he was still alive. He was going to be a great leader for the black community. I appreciate him as a person the older i get:mjcry:

Ive always been drawn to Malcolm X for some reason. Malcolm X the movie is my favorite movie ever. But ive never actually studied him. Ive recently started doing this and has realized how much of a genius and great speaker he was. One of my fav vids right here:

Again, another person who's full potential we'll never know. :mjcry:

Malcolm X is a great movie but Spike Lee is an awful actor who takes you out the movie.

For me, though, it's my older sister.

Comedians like Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr, Patrice O'Neal and Corey Holcomb.

I feel like comedians say some of the realest shyt at times. Theres no fliter no political correct shyt. Just raw uncut opinions whether I agree with it or not. I usually do. These guys will have u gut busting with laughter mixed with sprinkled gems.

I appreciate people who aren't celebrities but still get up everyday to do thankless work.

Good parents are an example.

I get older I realize that greatness isn't the uncommon thing that people idolize it to be. I know ministers at church that can speak as well as MLK or Malcolm X ever did. I know singers from around the way as good or better than most pop stars. But they weren't put in that position, they dont have that image, so they'll never get that recognition. I admire anyone that can still put in the work and dedication to their work knowing they'll never be appreciated as much as they should be, having to see people appreciated more than they should be.

It's easy to say money doesn't matter when your rich. Just as it's easy to tell people how to be successful when you've always had success.

But I appreciate people who have lived a life of failure that still have humility in their character. People that maybe had every reason in the world to become resentful of it, but dont.

I don't know it's just impressive.

I don't see how you can appreciate 2Pac. 2Pac is one the causes of the destruction of black music and the quality of black life.

He made a few conscious songs, but most of Pac's material is not righteous conscious Black power music..
In fact, it would be interesting to see which artists have the highest ratio of conscious music to their more street music.

Besides people I actually know like my mom, pops, aunts etc.

President Obama. The brother showed that yes a Blackman can become President in a place where Black people are hated. I just wish more of us would take up positions of public power to tip the scales.
