Infinity Ward opts to show off console version of CoD: Dogs on PS4 hardware instead of Xbox on IGN?

Apparently IGN will be revealing multiple Call of Duty Ghosts vids on their site all this week. And in a series first, it will be shown on a Playstation console (PS4 1080p) before release.



Normally since the Activision/MS CoD partnership all marketing footage up to and after a CoD release has been shown on the Xbox (PS3 preview builds were still shown to the media, but not in direct feed marketing vids).

My guess is they are trying to get those ps4 preorders up. Its literally the only game coming out for both that has more preorders on xbox one. Doing it any other way would not be in the interest of the shareholders.

Yep, @Crakface is right. Remember, MS has an exclusive marketing deal with Activision for CoD.

You do realize that the reason the Xbox1 version of CoD is out selling the PS4 version is because:

1. Preorders for the PS4 version of BF4 is destroying preorders for the Xbox1 version of BF4 & preorders for "Killzone: Shadow Fall" is holding it's own with CoD & BF4. That's definitely effecting CoD preorders numbers for PS4 & XB1.

2. CoD is associated with Xbox. This is the same reason that that 3rd-party multiplatform games that made their name on the PS1 and/or PS2, the PS3 version usually outsells the Xbox360 version. Since E3, I've been thinking CoD is only the AAA 3rd-party multiplatform launch game that the Xbox1 version would outsell the PS4 version. Looks like I was right.

Black Ops 2 grossed over 1 billion in the first 15 days of it's release. Until GTAV, it was the most active game being played over Xbox live. Do you have facts that say people aren't playing call of duty anymore? Because sales and activity say otherwise.
