Its crazy how this thread got no love but the way I remember it....Those first 4 bars of Beat Street Breakdown was the rhyme quotable of the year in 84. Roxanne Roxanne was a popular hook but as a quotable those first 4 bars of BSB was on all the kids lips. Everywhere u went were there was kids they were saying those 4 bars. That was the rhyme highlight of the whole movie. But I guess u had to be an 80's baby to remember that and obviously there are but few 80's baby who remember when Beat Street was in the movie theaters. Purple Rain and Beat street summer 84. I had just turned 6 and my mom took me to see Purple Rain and after that Apollonia scene she thought Beat Street was worse because it was rap music so she refused to take me to see it after my constant begging.

No doubt but ya mans in the video totally skipped over that part. The 4 bars that everyone was spitting he totally skipped over. He coulda opened up with the dialogue that I gave. But outside of that I thought it was a cool breakdown.
That slave to the computer line was pretty prophetic for its time looking back tho..I'll give him that.
