[Insider Gaming] Dead Cells Developer to Release a New Prince of Persia Game in Steam Early Access

Ubisoft is set to release its next Prince of Persia game later this year on Steam, developed by Dead Cells developer Evil Empire. The game, 'The Rogue Prince of Persia,' will launch in Early Access on Steam and mark Ubisoft's first day-one Steam release since 2019.

Sources say the Rogue Prince of Persia is a new Roguelite that will receive constant free updates and evolve over time based on community feedback.

It's understood that the game has been in development for the past four years and happened thanks to a discussion between Evil Empire and Ubisoft at GDC around 2019, soon after Evil Empire was born.

The game is set to take its art direction inspiration heavily from Franco-Belgian comics.

It's currently unclear when the game will officially be announced, but the game is targeting an Early Access release on Steam later this year.

The team's been working insanely hard these past few months to get the game ready for this huge content injection, which will give you:

• New story act + tons of narrative polish for Act 1

It's so good. Feels enough like Dead Cells to scratch that itch but does enough different to separate it from just being a Dead Cells clone.
