didnt RZA or someone said that they was a Killarmy album that got lost as well?
RZA lost around 500 beats in two separate floods in the mid 90s including the original beats for Tical, beats for Deck's debut & the OBFCL original masters. While Meth's album was closest to being done & mostly recorded, the way RZA had them set up was the beats were made & stored with each member in mind. So, while Deck didn't really have an album w/ vocals recorded that got lost, the beats that were set aside & made specifically for a potential Deck album were lost.
Pipes burst on that first one, no clue how there was another after that. They basically had to re do their first albums and Mef had to rush to get his out so you got Tical. Why so many “floods”?![]()
It’s not like these days where you just save your beat to 3 back up hard drives. Back then you had you ASR or whatever you used and a little floppy disk that held all the sounds. If you have a thing full of disks and they get water all over them then they’re fukked. Doesn’t matter what other hardware or software you have. Why so many “floods”?![]()
Didn't Q-tip lose his and some Dilla beats for a Tribe album too in the 90's the same way?

Did RZA really lose all the music in a flood?
Rza had beats produced, finished, and ready to go for a bunch of the solo albums when pipes burst at his crib and flooded his basement (the first flood -- there have been others). He lost those disks and had to recreate all those beats, some have been lost forever.
