That 35 billion is because of how integrated it is with Facebook these days. Without it, it clearly wouldn't have been worth as much...pretty clear tbh.
It's tough to say, but I would assume if they kept up with that momentum anywhere between 7-10B right now
I know this is true, but I recall IG gaining a lot of momentum before this sale. I'm not saying they would have been valued this way without the purchase, but they were becoming more and more popular without FB. Where do you think they would be without the integration? I still think IG would be one of the most used apps/social networks around

Edit: instagram has actually slowed down a lot since being bought by Facebook. Just like Facebook might be gaining numbers overall but activity is lower than ever.. The constant policing of instagram accounts, etc has made people move onto snapchat where theres no rules for most part.
shyt they limit how many people you can follow/unfollow/how many pictures you can like a hour.
People dont like restrictions like that..
