Before we can even do polygamy we need to become economically stable. If people want to be in polygamous relationships then I have no problem with it. Something realistic would be 2-3 wives and each wife has 1-2 kids. It would be helpful because people can work different shifts, while some help with the kids. The father would also be the head of the house. I have family members who are in polygamous marriages, and they are doing well. People need to be honest with themselves though and ask if they can handle it. Historically people did not marry for love, and learned to love the person. You can not enter a polygamous marriage with jealousy or aiming to be the best wife. polygamy is mostly about family and building something for the future generations.
People do love for the sake of love. Money plays a part, but if it played a big part beta males would have made a lot more traction.
I think that this is a case where she is preaching to the choir, those who don't mind polygamy were always in favor of marriage to begin with.
I know a young African chick who was pressured to marry a guy who already and 8 wives, but I'm not sure if they live under the same household. I would assume not, because she used to be all over Facebook until she deleted her account and I don't see her doing that in an oppressive home life.
Yeah I did see it as preaching to the choir. People do love, but love wasn't usually a deciding factor in marriage historically. People got married based on one being a good match and they eventually learned to look past minor flaws and love the person, or at least respect them.
Do you remember the country the young lady is from?
I didn't watch the video, but to truly heal our community we need to stop producing dysfunctional children who ends up lacking character and discipline.
She is from Nigeria. Parents told her she was wasting her life in America, and dude was interested in her.
She still had her African accent, but she was in America from junior high till sophomore yr of college. It kind of surprised cause she was confident and opinionated, but she did seem cold when it came to certain things. She reminded me of how French and Russian women would come off, big hearts and strong minds.
I'm in Ft. Lauderdale, where you at?
I am Nigerian too. My parents would never give me off to a man with 8 wives. That is a household full of drama. 1 to 3 wives is ok. My grandfather had 4 wives and 21 kids. So they forced her to go back to Nigeria?
