i have seen this argued before and i am just now starting to come to the side of it.

most people will argue that hogan's finisher was the leg drop, and that in the grand scheme of history it is an underwhelming finishing maneuver... especially since he usually beat everyone with it. for the longest time, i agreed.

but i was wrong. the finisher isn't the leg drop, the finisher is the hulk up.

the hulk up is basically the equivalent of neo at the end of the matrix. at his lowest point he calls upon a higher power and becomes virtually unbeatable. punches have no effect on him, not even from andre the giant or king kong bundy. when hogan connects with those 3 overhand rights, they are infused with the power of hulkamania and a million hulkamaniacs. the irish whip into his size 13 boot might as well be the equivalent of going 100 miles into a cement wall. and then finally after the guy has just been pulverized into submission, hogan come crashing down with the ATOMIC leg drop... just for good measure.

"Hulking up" is a power up equivalent to "X-Factor" in Marvel vs Capcom 3 but his Super Combo is still the Big Boot/Leg Drop.

he didn't always win with the big boot/leg drop though. sometimes the finish was a little different.

with andre it was a slam/leg drop. and he couldn't have slammed him had he not hulked up.
