The fact that we don't have a collective mindset kinda correlates to why our numbers so low. But in the same breath or numbers don't mean shyt if we don't think as one or at least a good portion of us.

:francis: People who keep saying we were fukking or Brenda is having multiple babies with every guy on the block, yall do realize that right underneath all the stats that it says they changed what is considered black and started including people who are mixed as black in 2000, which is the year it jumped the most.

People who were mixed were usually considered Black before 2000. In 2000 they were allowed to check more than one box which is why you can now search for population by "Black alone" or Black in combination with one, two, three, or four+ races.

Population-2-chart-1790-to-2012.jpg

them gains after the 80s :whoo:

I've done research with Census data and here is the deal with the "jump" in Blacks from 1980 on. The Census usually double checks their data on population numbers by race (usually only Whites or Blacks since those are the oldest tracked categories) by looking at birth/death data over the decades. If the Census is comprehensive in its coverage. The population of Black in any given year should be the population of Blacks in the last Census plus births minus deaths. The birth/death certificate data is very comprehensive, moreso than Census surveys.

So why the "jump"? Blacks, especially Black men, were historically undercounted in the Census. No one is exactly sure of all the reasons (it isn't jail since they are counted and it isn't homicide since a death certificate is generated) but as late as the 1990 Census, Black men, especially middle aged men, were undercounted by 15-19% of this. Because of this, our numbers in the Census jump as more Black people are reported as the Census improves its outreach in our communities and people take part.

Also, that means that rates of homicide, incarceration, AIDS, etc., when done per 100,000 people were always 15-19% higher than they should have been making the stats look worse than they really were.

Exactly

When i first moved to the U.S. i would have thougth it was closer to 50% too since i lived in Miami and would travel to NY and both places had a lot of blacks (granted in Miami a lot of them are caribbean blacks) . Then i joined the Army and realized it's not so close but still thougth it was higher than what it turned out to be. Eventually while traveling to places like small towns and cities in OH and KY, TX, AZ and also TN i realized blacks were almost rare.
Mind you i moved here after growing up in a country that is over 95% black so you can imagine how being a minority made me feel.

The fools who think blacks are over 50% are the ones who never been outside of their city and when they do they go to places like DC, ATL, AL and NY and swear thats the norm everywhere.
I also used to not believe there were more latinos here than blacks too...until i went out West. Then i had take it all back :pachaha:
When you think about the significant number of foreign blacks that have migrated here and contributed to the population of blacks you realize the number of "black" americans could have been lower than we think it even is now.

How do these census surveys work?

I have never done one census in my entire life. If that's how they're counting the black population then :francis:

IMO, I think the black pop. is closer to 20-22%, maybe even 25%.

I dont believe census numbers are accurate just like i dont believe TV ratings. But i dont think the census is all they rely on.
But like i said when i first moved to the U.S. i used to think it really was closer to 40s because i lived in Miami and traveled to places like NY and NJ. Then i joined the army and would go through all these not so major cities. There i realized.... we're really a minority.

The number could possibly be near 20% if not more. But it's nowhere near the 50% some of these clown be saying it is when they wanna beat their chests

Yea I feel you....I traveled through the heartland before (Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan). There's alot of whites. Even in the states we're in once you leave the major urban areas, the cities get really rural and really white. In Delaware, my home state, the largest city is Wilmington which is 70% black but, I stayed downstate one year in a little one factory town. shyt was 94% white. 2% black. So white that there were less than 200 black people. Most of the towns down there were like that. I think the black population is closer to 20%. But we're all clustered in the South and in the major urban cities. You go out West or to the Pacific Northwest or the Midwest or to New England and we have no presence there really.

They still do subconsciously.
Their need to reassure themselves of their self perceived superiority by the belittling of other races is a ironic confirmation of their insecurity. Much like how animals growl or attack when confronted. it is not bravery you're seeing, it is fear. Fear that if any minority was to step up in unison the system of supremacy could and would come tumbling down in a cloud of dust.

Hoodrats having 4 and 5 kids is going to bring our numbers up. Swagged out playaz having multiple kids with multiple women. A lot of sistas choose these dudes over the boring 9 to 5 guys. Most average dudes are having less and less kids.

Increase in numbers is good, but not with a bunch fatherless single mother homes.

:wow:

problem wit single mother homes is that theres no family structure....

no families means no communities, and that means no economy...

which keeps us at the bottom....
