http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/chief-keef-reportedly-dropped-from-interscope-news.12542.html

Interscope has possibly parted ways with 19-year-old drill star Chief Keef.

Since Chief Keef signed with Interscope in Summer 2012, he's given them his debut album, Finally Rich, and... not much else. Since dropping that project in Decemeber 2012, Keef has not only failed to put out a follow-up, but his already-lengthy rap sheet has gotten longer -- and now Interscope has reportedly dropped him from their roster.

AllHipHop says they have info from an unnamed source inside Interscope, and write, "Interscope began to 'subtly disassociate' itself from the 19-year-old rapper after he had a series of legal cases sprout up in 2013 and 2014." Adding that Keef's been "quietly dropped," the source says “Keef and his people tried to keep the label accountable (once Keef moved to Los Angeles) but Interscope didn’t seem interested in dropping a new album. Keef’s team tried to have formal meetings but nothing moved.”

Stay tuned for official confirmation, and expect Keef's new output (which has already been pretty weird) to keep getting weirder.

to be honest..
interscope was dumb signing him in the first place. if i had a label im not signing someone whos always in trouble with the law :manny: it's too risky. im signing dudes who are considered "corny". drake, j cole, asap, joey badass, chance types. etc etc they're reliable and a good return on investment.

and i doubt hes gonna do something indie w/ his career. dude was constantly blowing off performances and shyt. any smart promoter would not book him for risk of losing money. wasn't he supposed to play at some fest or something over seas and just decided not to go? dude could've made 30-40k but instead he no showed and it ended up costing him and the label money.

He'll be good on an indie label. These majors ain't doing shyt anyways.

he aint smart enough for Indie.. Thats shyt all OUT OF POCKET.

He gonna continue dropping free songs and hoping he can get show dates which Im sure is too hard due to his crew.. What promoter or club wanna book that potential shootout??

Well I meant if his Glory Boyz Ent. label gets a deal he'll be in a better situation. Obviously he's gonna need a good team and management.

he should've just stayed indie.

it mightve been a good investment at the time. but i'd rather sign someone whos going to be long term good investment than just taking chances on whoever is getting hyped.
