North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
It gets praise for getting a lot of the science right but the fukked up on the biggest scientific aspect.

The wormholes gravity wouldve threw every planet out of its orbit and everyone of earth wouldve perished before they knew it was even there.

we dont know that for sure. There are no real world examples of the cause and effects of wormholes :childplease:

For space movie like this I don't really get into the specifics of the science unless it's to over the top. But "OUR" science at this current time is ever evolving so I take each movie with a grain of salt and enjoy the plot and the vision the director is relaying to the audience......

How about needing a massive rocket to escape earths gravity but then a tiny spaceship enters and escapes other planets including one in a stronger gravity well than earth?
That was the point. The spaceship was too massive to get into space under Earths gravity.

This ship actually

Gravity so strong that one hour is seven years compared in relation to earth

I know what you're saying it just doesn't make sense to me. A smaller ship needs less propulsion to reach escape velocity than a ship that has to house the entirety of humanity. And the gravity from the black hole would do the opposite from keeping them on the planet it would make it easier to leave.

Most of that movie was actually validated by the scientific community.

I think the biggest plot hole would have been falling into the black hole. Dude would have been stringified the closer he got because the gravity at his feet would have been much stronger than the gravity at his head, thus ripping dude apart. But I can't remember if the blackhole in the movie was supposed to be "super massive" in which case dude would make it through.

What are they standing on in the wave scene? How do you have a 100ft wave in 3 feet of water? Cool scene though.

Gravity on the planet has nothing to do with how slowly time passes, it has to do with how close the planet is to the black hole because of spacetime being distorted by the mass of the black hole

I think you're confusing wormholes and black holes. Wormholes dont technically exist but even if they could they can't stay open long enough. They would collapse rapidly unless something on the other end is keeping it open. You have to be close enough to the edge of a black hole (event horizon) in order to get swallowed up or throw anything out of orbit.
