actually, it's completely plausible, we are fundamentally anti-entropy machines so, immortality would be the zenith of the evolutionary ascension, making sexual diversity and mutations obsolete as maintainers of genetic survivability. We'd be either taking flight off the branch of the tree of life or cutting the proximal limb behind where we stand before having developed wings.
