One thing I see on the coli is people saying that they don't laugh at 'cac comedy' or comedy that is made by white people.

But then I got to thinking about black comedy and thinking about how I don't know that much.

When people say they don't think cac comedy is funny are they watching Fresh Prince and Martin show reruns from 20 years ago on repeat?

Are they watching 3-4 decades old Richard Pryor standups?

Do they like House of Payne?

Is Think Like a Man an example of classic black comedy? Ride Along?

I really can't think of great black comedy shows, movies, standups nowadays :ohhh:

So militants hook a breh up with that black comedy :myman:

On TV we really don't have much anymore. Which is a double edged sword: On the one hand, it would be great to have some comedies on TV with an all black cast like we had in the 90s and early 2000s but on the other hand, we are playing prominent roles in hit comedies now, like Brooklyn 99 which has two black actors in lead roles and they aren't stereotypes and they're in positions of power. To me though, funny is funny, and since its subjective, I really don't care who makes me laugh just make me laugh. I don't care what he did on the show, I never found myself laughing at any Tyler Perry show that was on and thats because I don't gravitate toward that style of comedy. Mitchell Hurwitz could be the whitest man alive for all I know but nothing has been as funny to me since the 2000s started as Arrested Development

tbf, Think Like a Man, Ride Along>>>Anchorman 2, This is the End :yeshrug:

And see as a member of the darkskin brother coalition, I disagree :yeshrug: that's the whole thing about subjective. Not all black people laugh at the same thing and not all white people laugh at the same thing. No ethnic group on this planet will all find the same things funny which is why I HATE the term "black comedy" or "black movie" Just call the shyt a movie or a comedy like you would anything else and let that be that. I hate when we're marginalized like that

I never said all black people laugh at the same thing. I genuinely believe those movies were better.Especially better than Anchorman 2. I like This is the End though.

No I'm not saying you did I was making a larger point to the OP that we all like different shyt so its going to be hard for us to point him to some dope black comedy because if we're both black and we have a difference of opinion, then its a pointless exercise for him
