*This thread is a work in progress so the OP will continuously be update with better information*
African Publicly Traded Companies, Commodities, Funds, Depository Receipts
African American Publicly Traded Companies (stock 51% AA owned)
This thread is intended to foster discussion of how to participate in investing in the African Diaspora.
If you know of any publicly traded company with a significant Black board, private owned black companies that went public, who does majority of its business in a Black majority country, African American CEOs, African American-led investment firms, Black alternate currencies or to the benefit of Black people then this is the thread to post that company in. The image above is all African based, but if you know any company that fits the bill anywhere in the world (South American, US, Caribbean, Europe, etc) then please list it.
*Note* It is important to look into who the shareholders and board of directors are. Just because it's black owned you still need to research both and decide if it is a worthy investment if neither are majority Black.
Many people on here probably have not ever participated in buying stocks, real state, etc...so those who have any experience, it would be greatly appreciated if you could drop a few jewels here and there.
Do you research on these company. For example, there are gold mines listed on some of these exchanges. Some of these mines may be ethically bankrupt, and I don't think any Black person wants to invest in a mine that is predatory on any local Black populations, eh?
This thread is also good for posting 1. private owned Black companies doing seed funding rounds 2. Black online shops on sites like Ebay and Etsy selling goods 3. Black-owned mom and pop stores that have Kickstarters to raise funds
Even if you do not currently have the $$$$ to invest, it is still good to acquaint and familiarize yourself with this stuff
