Lack of innovation is the main reason why.
iOS is still the most stable and advanced mobile OS out there though.
The sheer amount of engineering skill it takes to create the 'bounce" effect when you scroll on iOS is testament to the little things that Apple does which will keep them ahead of the game for years to come.

Apple died when Jobs did. Since then they have just been coasting off reputation and haven't really done much in the way of innovation like in years past.

ive had both iphone and droid and they are essentially the same...as someone who makes music i gravitate more toward Android because if a producer or engineer/artist sends me a track or an idea i can easily just play it on my phone. download it to my sd and i own it. but on iphone i'd only be able to play it through a random screen and cant even let my screen go black 
so i have to go all the way home and add the song to my itunes just to be able to play it...makes working on music on the fly more of a chore. i did grow fond of how the iphone works in general.
