Youngins tryna rewrite history as it pertains to film and TV is hilarious. Shyt like The Dark Knight not getting the respect it deserves + mfs in here talmbout sum Snofall just cuz it prolly look cleaner & shyt 
its definitely overrated, but its also great. it was one of the original shows that pioneered this new age of television along with shows like oz and the sopranos. part of me wants to dismiss the wire as copaganda, but the fact that the show is so critical of the police is unique in american television, where shows like 'ncis' and 'law and order' basically bukkake copaganda to the people over the airwaves. the cynic in me knows they do this to normalize police brutality because it makes regular folks assume the cop had to step out of line to nab the criminal. its fukked up. it would be great if dikk wolfs butler poisoned him, thats all im saying.
