He had a good team of producers as well but Irv is a good producer in his own right.
He had a good ear from music back in the 90's and 2000's.

it's possible dude was saying duck. But let me put it this way: dude seems to know Irv for real for a very long time, did music business with Irv and provided serious 'ceipts. He has no reason to lie about some shyt like that. He didn't say it as a diss to dude. He was complimenting dude's ear for talent and supreme hustle.
