The sales of the new album brings Jay-Z’s total album sales to 28,976,000, per Nielsen SoundScan. That puts him in third place among rappers, behind Eminem (42,307,000) and 2Pac (29,010,000). So in this coming week, he’ll surpass 2Pac, who was shot to death in September 1996.

Swift has sold 20,487,000 albums, which is more than any other artist who has come on the scene in the past 10 years. Her closest rivals are 50 Cent (16,535,000) and Michael Buble (16,137,000).

USA SALES:
Jay-Z: 28,976,000 as of July 2013
50 Cent: 16,535,000 as of December 2012

Solo albums, that doesn't count stuff like T.O.S, & Beg For Mercy, & people leave off "Guess Who's Back" which sold about 500k

50's total in the US is like 19-20 million, he's the second highest selling NYC rapper, unless you count Tupac which most people don't.

The 16.5 number counts all 4 solo albums (8.2, 5.3, 1.4, .5) as well as 400k for "Guess whose back" (this charted on bb and was counted by soundscan) and 645k for "New breed". It does not count BFM, TOS or Grodt soundtrack

that still doesn't mean 10 million people bought it.

true. but you gotta give em some credit since it costed 30 or so bucks.

when it comes to '90s double cds, i round it off halfway. 10 million sold. 5 million bought it. so off principle, i'd round it out to 7.5

2000s double cds tho - :smh:

I was surprised they charged 18.99 + tax for YG's deluxe album.
