LOTS of black youth gained higher self-esteem and were inspired to achieve greater education because of this show..........and thats exactly why it was taken off the airNo but the chicks that were extras were.....
I seriously wanted to go to a HBCU after watching it.
It's a GOAT show but a focus on young black students striving for Higher Education and progression certainly wouldn't be unwelcome. ALOT of the black focused shows and sitcoms from the late 80s and early 90s were exquisitely crafted and fantastically written. I was attaching an old episode of Living Single the other day where the focus was on black men and how they wear their hair in the work place. That topic is as poignant and relevant to people of color today as it was 20 years ago

born in 93 so i never got to watch the show live i seen a couple episodes here and there in my teens mainly cause i was a Cosby show stan , fast word to two weeks ago i complete forgot about the show i saw a someone using a gif on here of the show, instantly went to netflix binged watched the whole thing truly inspiring, making me think of going to university this fall the way those brothers and sisters valued education was what we need now
