I’m working on 2 Latin languages rn

Portuguese and French. Put a back burner on Spanish it was too close to Portuguese and messing me up

Any tips? I’m struggling atm. Best app and best method of learning? Currently using Pimsleur And Babbel

Anyone hear try Mass immersion? You think that works?

I’m only doing those 2, lately I was doing Japanese and mandarin but I got lazy with studying kanji. I’ll make my way back towards Asia again in 6-7 months I need these 2 rn

Duo Lingo and start labeling shyt in ya house. And use the language daily even if it's one word or two. Play how you practice....practice how you play

Nah is there a difference? How is it different than the free version. I have the paid version of Pimsleur and Babbel
Duo lingo paid has more intensive programming.
I was studying Ayiti Kreyòl since Louisiana Kreyòl isn't on there. Im getting it the next time I make an art sale so I can start learning Kreyòl and Japanese.

I will look into this. I’m just tired of shelling money at this point. I’m like 2 paid apps in already

Look up on YouTube on language transfer . It’s a co bc rational approach to learning new languages.

Start watching movies/tv shows in whatever language you’re studying with the subtitles on.

I also started listening to French music and it helped a bit. Also interacting with reels/TikTok’s of people who speak the language to pick up slang or how ppl really speak vs what a learning app teaches you.

How about just learning one language at a time.
I have an order of importance. I’m going Portuguese first rn. Then doing French early March.

Ive been listen to a shyt ton of French music since 2019. shyt never really clicked but then it’s African French, I might try my hand at movies since I can see the subtitles

do you live in an area with a significant brazilian community? immersion has always been critically important when ive learned languages. being able to go to a restaurant or market and hear people talk in portuguese is not going to singlehandedly teach you but i dont think you can fully do it without some kind of dynamic like that.

if you don’t own a portuguese-english dictionary, definitely buy one. read news articles in portuguese about topics you already know about and figure out what they are saying.

absolutely do not rely on shyt like google translate it will kneecap your ability to learn.

how well do you understand the grammar and syntax at this point?

Yeah there’s a ton of Cape Verdeans and Brazilians around me so no hesitation

I think grammar and syntax Is what’s killing me especially verb conjugation
