Is being born or immigrating to USA like hitting the lottery in life?

I think the military superiority is what sets the U.S. apart from any other country. We can bomb countries with impunity and there’s not much they can do about it.
You should look up the average annual salaries around the world. Nobody is risking their life to immigrate here because our military has advanced missiles.

Living in a military powerhouse is a cheat code. Look at Iran, got bombed and told not to clap back or else. Palestine has been blown to bits over the last couple years and have no capability of responding in kind to Israel.

You don’t have to worry about rockets turning your life upside down because you live in the USA.
Impunity does not mean without consequence.. sometimes they just take longer to manifest

It was posted in this thread. Many people immigrate here because they know their home country can’t touch them here, I’ve met some of them.

Let’s see if that happens in our lifetimes.

lol hell nah, just being born in the US alone isn't a win. If you are born into the right situation or have the right skills mixed with a little bit of luck you can have whatever you want here but if you are just an average person (especially an average male) you'd be better off in quite a few countries if making money and material things isn't your main focus in life.

Like most things, I think it depends on what you want out of life - and likely on other variables

Basically. It's not also only about wealth or GDP, but also what your interests in life are. Also depends on where in the US. I'll always regret not being in NY in the 90s as a teenager due to personnal interests (hip-hop, basketball and art in general). I never even considered visiting other places in the US tbh.

A good way not to get bombed by the US is to move there :manny:

Nah breh I got my passport… especially as a blk person… is USA like winning the lottery?

Edit: this chart is skewed with Ireland. It’s so high because of American companies using it as a tax shelter. The average and normal Irish person isn’t bringing in anywhere near $140k… most likely it’s around $40-50k

There’s always a rich and upper middle class section to any country. Born poor here as a Black person or being born a rich / upper middle class Black Canadian or UK or any developed country …

:patrice:

which one would you choose…

Not unless you’ll hate yourself so much for being a rich tether that you couldn’t live with yourself.

:mjlol:

According to Warren Buffett, being born in America is the luckiest thing that can happen to you. You have a 5% chance to be born here.

People don’t realize how many items of luxury they have around their house. There’s a reason why the U.S is the top importer while having only 350 million people living here. Most people around the world don’t have half the shyt poorer people here have.

I don’t think it’s unfair to say that if you can’t make it here, you most likely aren’t making it anywhere.

This country is like a cheat code overall. If you can’t make the most of it, that’s 90% mainly on you.
