It varies greatly from show to show.

I think a show with a tight story, few characters, and certain complexities (like Breaking Bad) is better experienced at a slower pace. Not necessarily 1 ep/week, but definitely not binge watched.

On the otherhand, I think Boardwalk Empire benefits from binge watching. There are so many characters and interwoven stories that keeping up with all of them in only 50 minutes a week is difficult. Watching it as it airs, you can easily forget entire storylines when they disappear for several weeks of episodes. Those issues disappear if binge watched though.

I could NEVER binge watch True Detective though. It would make me want to kill myself.

nothing beats being able binge watch a show like lost or 24.. shows that end in a cliffhanger every episode.

I never like binge watching shows. When I do that, everything gets blurred together, I forget little things, and then I can't get classic episodes to stick out in my memory (Pine Barrens on The Sopranos.......Ozymandias on Breaking Bad, etc.). We live in the instant gratification world these days, so everyone I know prefers the binge method. Meh :manny:

Exactly.

I'm really digging the show so far, especially the structure and the way the investigation has become the B-story.

But man...I feel like shyt after watching it :dead:

I binge watch but I have to read a guide after each season so I can appreciate the summary of events.

I prefer watching on a weekly basis.

while its def more convenient and u miss the commercials, i don't think you process all the details in the episodes, if you're watching one after another. Plus talking to other people after the show, and trying to think about whats going to happen next, elevates the experience.

:dahell: if anything its the opposite. binge watching you immediately pick up on all the details because its still fresh in your mind as opposed to waiting a week and forgetting some of the little things

The first show I binge watched was Lost on Netflix. Since then I've been hooked on watching shows that way. I honestly don't care about interacting with people and discussing a show. I prefer digesting entire seasons/shows at once. With so many distractions readily available at my fingertips PS4, E-Books, Working out/intramural sports, etc its easy for me to get distracted.

There are shows on TV now that I will literally be like " I'll just wait until this goes off the air completely and then I'll watch it".

it just depends. each form of watching offers a different experience. Me and my friends all watch current shows together, like Game of Thrones, so it's an event every sunday to go to a friends house, smoke a blunt and watch GoT the night it actually comes on.
