No, black women overeating and lacking restraint is causing the obesity epidemic. I won't deny that there is some influence from black men's preferences. Nevertheless, black women are adults and have agency in what they decide to put into their mouths.

No but it's too complex to blame on one thing.
Generally, women with hard lives use food as a form of escapism. Black women tend to have harder or more stressful lives than other women which results in eating more unhealthy or fattening food as a form of comfort.
There's also a systemic element as well where they purposefully give low income residents the worst quality of food in our grocery stores and delis. There's already been talks about the lack of grocery stores in inner city communities but the delis and stores that are present in our communities generally feed us the most sugary and fattening products at the cheapest prices while vegetables and healthy meals will cost more and be less available.
So, no.....Black men liking a "slim-thicc" body with a good hip/waste ratio doesn't have much of an effect on it. Ain't nobody touting up Lizzo or Loni Love as the epitome of thickness. Beyonce and Megan Thee Stallion are better examples of what we prefer in terms of "thickness."
But it's a multi-faceted issue.

And no. If anything, a decent number of women don't listen to black men. Tell some woman to wear her natural hair, she'll tell you no, she's not wearing weave for you but for herself. Its not a preference, its dudes trying to convince themselves that the body types they think are more accessible are actually the ones they desire most.
in reality, see a bbw gang type get rich and famous, and watch him go right to smashing models and shyt. never fails. No dude with unlimited options is choosing big women over fit ones.
same with women too, look at some of these celebrites and look at type of men they were with before they got famous versus the types they are with now.

It’s crazy because a lot of women say they don’t get BBL for men but for their self-esteem so I don’t know how Black men are getting blamed
