Is Brian De Palma's The Untouchables a good movie?

Might be some nostalgic bias but it was one of my favorite flicks growing up, really good performances from dope fukking actors, lots of classic scenes too. Garcia, Connery, Costner as Elliot Ness, Deniro as Capone..I'm sure you could pick it apart quite a bit more in hindsight but seeing that shyt in real time was special.

Billy Drago is one of the most underrated serial bad guys in hollywood IMO.

It's an over stylish and over sensational movie, that's more concerned with being a nod to 1930's gangster movies than having any substance. It's the type of movie where characters make questionable choices just so we can get a great scene [usually involving some sort of violence] . If you're the type of viewer hat nitpicks shyt like that I'd imagine you'd hate this movie..

I'm a huge fan of De Palma so I love this movie.

Very dope movie. It’s probably DePalma’s most accessible movie and most commercial. Even more than mission impossible because that plot does confuse people at times. You got DePalma doing his thing with a script by David Mamet, and Connery

Same seen this movie over 20 times. It's not realistic but it's a fun watch. Higly stylized violence and great performances from Connery, DeNiro, Cosner and Andy Garcia. The train station scene is.

Historically inaccurate...should’ve been a story about Capone rather than having Capone be a part of an inaccurate retelling of Elliot Ness’ story.

Classic. It has a kind of cartoonish flavor to it, but that just makes it a bit different. Its more fun and light hearted than most gangster flicks. Great performances and De Palma is a genius with setting up memorable scenes and shots.
