Comcast Sued Over Router Update That Makes Your Wi-Fi Hotspot Public, Ignores Your Opt-Out Preferences | Techdirt
The above story would outrage me if I was a Comcast customer. I recently moved, and is now in need of a cable provider. I'd like to cut the cord, have done it before. And the problem with doing so is the cable company will throttle your speeds if you try to cut. They will give you a deal as a bundle that is too good to pass up.
Now, if you clicked the link above you will see how Comcast has turned customers home routers into wifi hotspots. Usually labeled "xfinityWIFI"
The comcast website says either pay $54.99 a month or its free if I'm a Comcast customer already
Is anyone eating this way, and what are the average download speeds I should be expecting
