Is Contra Hard Corps the hardest video game ever?

I got it on the Sega and I gotta say this is the toughest game I've ever played

The only cheat codes out there are for the Japanese version so you can't even cheat on the US one

But as far as 16 bit games go, it's up there.

I LOVE this game, one of the most underappreciated NES games of all time. I feel the game is hard but fair with enough practice.

On strider I could never get past that cac sitting in the chair with the shield as a kid no matter what I did nothing worked...

And I got past the bomb defusing level on TMNT but the next board where you had to jump across the roof I kept falling didn't even know how to use the grappling hook, I didn't even know until years later ..
