Is defense the biggest skill-gap between Durant and Larry Bird

I am hearing that Durant is the best defender in the league and Larry Bird, while good at help D, would never be called best in the league, so it's clear that Durant has a pretty clear advantage there. But, is defense the biggest skill gap between them or is there one nearly as big elsewhere? Are they comparable as scorers or is Durant clearly superior there also?

Most definitely.

With that said, Bird still ranks higher on an all-time list. Durant's gonna need at least 2-3 more seasons of the same level of play to surpass him, IMO.
