I remember when the Suns traded 3 1st round picks to the Denver Nuggets for Antonio McDyess, only to watch McDyess walk away and go back to the Nuggets a couple of months later.

Most pissed I've ever been as a Suns fan.Dice was looking nice out there with J Kidd.

People talk about missing oun on Penny & Grant Hill's prime, but McDyess was a beast, to.

He could've easily been a perennial 25 & 12 player.Crazy hops, but low key, one of the best J's you'll ever see on a PF.

And to top it off, he played defense. He was like Amare Stoudemire with defense.

Norfeast groovin…
They got a second round pick they used on Marc. :camby: with they got cap space. Give up a hall of fame big man for the biggest draft bust in NBA history brehs.

Uhh no, the Lakers drafted Marc Gasol and kept him overseas to develop more. But the Lakers owned his rights and those rights were traded to Memphis in the Pau trade. Don't forget, the Pau trade happened at around January which is well after the draft obviously. That draft bust gave them the cap space to sign Z-Bo. So yeah, Memphis did well for themselves. Idiot. :camby:

On June 9, 1980, Red Auerbach pulled off the type of trade that had earned him a reputation for thievery in his more than three decades in the league. Auerbach dealt the first and 13th picks in the 1980 NBA Draft to Golden State for the third pick in the 1980 Draft and four-year veteran center Robert Parish. The Warriors selected Purdue center Joe Barry Carroll with the first pick and tabbed Mississippi forward Rickey Brown 13th. The Celtics took forward Kevin McHale of Minnesota, and thus added Parish and McHale to a frontcourt that already featured Larry Bird and Cedric Maxwell. In one trade, Auerbach had acquired a frontcourt for the next decade.
